How are Piers Installed

The two most common types of piers are helical piers and hydraulically driven piers or (push piers) both methods use galvanized steel piers that are driven deep into the ground to reach load bearing strata. Both also use brackets which are positioned under the footing. However helical piers have a screw type design that cuts into the ground and are driven independently of the house, while hydraulically driven piers are pushed into the ground using the house as a counter weight.
