Chris-GrubbChris has been a part of ESOG since its beginning in 2006, consulting on structural design and business development. In 2012 he came on board full-time as the Director of Engineering. Chris has been engineering foundation systems and retrofits for 20 years. His professional certifications include:

  • Licensed engineer in 13 states including GA, FL, AL, MS, LA, TN, KY, SC, NC, VA, WV, CO and ID
  • BS (bachelor’s degree in Pre-engineering) from Furman University
  • BCE (bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering – Environmental Engineering emphasis) from Georgia Tech
  • MSE (master’s degree in Structural Engineering) from Georgia Tech

Clients dealing with structural problems will often meet with Chris on-site to discuss their project. Challenging structural repairs are usually referred to him as well. These include retrofits for structural failures and foundation and framing systems for new residential and commercial construction projects. Most of the foundation problems that Chris creates solutions for are due to the uneven terrain around Atlanta and the surrounding cities north of the metropolitan area.

Chris feels his goal as a foundation engineer aligns with ESOG’s core goal as a company: to help people through what could be a very scary time in dealing with structural problems with their homes. “I really enjoy enlightening clients as to the cause of the problem and helping them to see that it is fixable… permanently!” His advice to potential clients is: Don’t wait. Repairs are typically less expensive if the problem is addressed early. Even better yet, you would sleep much better if we are able to determine you don’t have a problem that needs structural attention!

Chris has lived everywhere from California to Canada to Chile, but he now calls Atlanta home. He keeps busy in his spare time with motocross, hiking and playing bass in a local band. And he’s also a member of a volunteer search and rescue team in Cobb County.

“Many people may think that being the only foundation repair contractor that has a real, in-house engineering department and an engineering firm license are our most unique characteristics. I believe that our goal to find the right solution, even if it means no solution, for your structural or waterproofing problem is what sets us apart the most. We have more tools and technologies at our disposal than any other single source foundation repair contractor in Atlanta and we have a whole lotta help packed up in our trucks!”
