How Do I Know If I Need House Leveling?

All foundations settle over time and this is normally nothing to worry about. However, when a foundation settles unevenly, or if the soil structures beneath a house shift or collapse, house leveling may be needed to lift the foundation back up to its original position. Cracks in your walls or ceilings that are growing wider at a fast pace
Cracks on your home’s exterior, especially on the foundation walls or in the stone or brickwork of your chimney
Doors sticking when you try to open or close them, or visibly sagging doorway frames
Floors that feel softer than normal or seem to be sagging or dipping
Visible sagging when you look at your home from the outside

There are a few different types of home foundations, such as slab foundation, pier and beam foundation, and block and base foundation. The process used to level your house will depend on what type of foundation you have and the reason why your foundation began to sag in the first place. Some of the most common methods of house leveling include the installation of steel piers, helical piers, concrete piers, or a poly lift which entails injecting polyurethane foam into the ground below the foundation to bring it back up to a level position.
